Kennett Square Nonprofit Cat Café Releases 2025 Impact Report, Highlighting Rescue of At-Risk Cats and Growing Community Support

Kennett Square, PA — March 30, 2026 — As animal shelters across Pennsylvania face overcrowding and rising costs, Treetops Kitty Café is proving that even the most vulnerable cats can find a second chance.

The Kennett Square-based nonprofit rescue today released its 2025 Impact Report, detailing a year marked by both significant challenges and meaningful progress in saving senior and special-needs cats—many pulled directly from high-risk situations.

In 2025 alone, Treetops:

  • Helped 54 cats find permanent homes
  • Saw a 50% increase in visitors to its café
  • Added 140 new donors and grew monthly giving by 57%
  • Expanded its digital reach with major gains across social platforms

The organization also deepened its partnership with ACCT Philadelphia, one of the region’s highest-volume intake shelters, rescuing cats that might otherwise have been euthanized.

“These are the cats that get overlooked,” said Maria Boulden, Chair of the Board. “We’ve built our mission around stepping in where others can’t.”

But the work comes at a cost. The report shows a net operating loss of over $8,000, driven by a 75% increase in veterinary expenses and temporary closures due to health and facility issues.

Still, Treetops continues to invest in growth, including new technology systems and operational improvements aimed at increasing adoptions and expanding outreach in 2026.

Since its founding, the organization has helped nearly 1,000 cats find homes, while creating a unique community space where visitors can connect with adoptable cats in a relaxed environment. The full 2025 Impact Report is available here.
