We know, this one can be a bummer! Please remember that you are a stranger to our kitties and cats need trust before allowing humans to handle them intimately. For your safety and the comfort of our kitties, please just welcome curious felines into your lap on their own terms. Petting, playing, and brushing are encouraged!
Did you know that cats sleep up 18 hours per day?! Since our kitties see guests and volunteers for up to 10 hours per day, they might be sleeping while you're here. It's natural and healthy for them to sleep a lot. It's harmful to them to force awake time and interrupt their sleep. There's nothing cuter than a sleeping cat, so enjoy the chill vibes!
This goes for cats and humans alike! We all like our personal space. If cats are swatting at you, running away, or having a bad day, we will gently guide you to interact with another kitty who does want attention. As for the other humans who might be here during your visit, please practice respectful language and behaviors. Anyone found to be hurting the cats, ignoring the rules, or causing disturbances will be asked to leave without a refund. We are an inclusive space and welcome all humans fro
Cats are extremely sensitive animals. Loud voices and fast movements might frighten them. Please move gently through our space and watch under your feet for furry passers-by!
We have plenty of toys for you to use with our kitties! From wands to tunnels and catnip mice, we have it all. With cat wands, please keep play low to and on the ground. With all other toys, please do not throw them at the cats or wear tunnels on your head (yes, it has happened!). *Cats who are sleeping or lounging in cat trees or wall hammocks will come down to play if they are interested.*
Our rules exist so our cats feel comfortable and willing to interact. If the lounge is too loud and busy, the cats will be less interested in socialization. Your best experience will happen easily if you let the cats come to you. We have large, fluffy rugs that you can sit or lay on and plenty of chairs.
We sell servings of treats that you can give to the kitties via a treat machine. Sometimes, we have to put the treat machine away for various reasons. Treats will not always be available for you to purchase.
